About the Artist

Miranda Antoinette is a native pacific northwesterner based in Seattle. She is an accomplished professional performer in many mediums, primarily focused in theatre, musical theatre, and vocal performance. Her knack for the theatrical inspires her to incorporate storytelling and historical influence into her designs and has drawn her into a lot of costume building.
Her mission is to create fashion that is good for the spirit and the planet. To bring artistry and organic creativity into fashion through experimentation and conversation and to create custom garments that fit people, not sizes. To create new art from old materials, providing an eco-friendly alternative to fast fashion and disposable culture. She focuses heavily on using recycled fabrics/materials and in upcycling, altering, and repairing garments.

She enjoys creating designs that imitate and complement nature, that have an element of whimsy or fantasy, and blend fun with simple elegance. She also loves to learn, welcomes a creatively complex piece, and is very diverse in styles.

Miranda is completely self-taught in practically all the sewing that she does, but thanks her grandma for all her love, support, and sewing advice. Miranda was inspired by her active imagination, love of fantasy, and dissatisfaction with commercial sizing to sew in her teen years. She has been designing, creating patterns, and building garments of all kinds since, specializing in wedding gowns and elaborate costumes.

She has been featured on the runway at Envision with RAWArtists, designs for several musicians and burlesque artists, and is honored to have been invited to show at New York Fashion week with Oxford Fashion Studio in 2022 (safety-needs allowing).
